School Psychologist to Sala Municipality

Sala Municipality in eastern Västmanland has approximately 22,800 inhabitants and is the largest in the county by area. The municipality has several smaller towns as well as Sala city with about 13,000 inhabitants. The school psychologist is part of the student health team, which, based on the various professions' competencies, aims to support students towards the goals of education. The student health team primarily works preventively and health-promoting, which means that the connection between learning and health is the focus of the efforts. The student health team collaborates with other school staff at the individual, group, and school unit levels.

Job Responsibilities

As one of our school psychologists will be on parental leave, we are looking for a school psychologist who wants to be part of our team for one year. We currently have three school psychologists employed in Sala Municipality. As a school psychologist, you will work with issues related to students' potential barriers to learning and students with special needs. The role of the school psychologist includes tasks such as IF investigations, support for principals and school staff, lectures, and supervision.

You will be placed alongside other school psychologists and the unit manager, working on behalf of primary schools, high schools, and adapted school forms throughout Sala Municipality. The work as a school psychologist is independent and requires good organizational skills, curiosity, interest, and the ability to work collaboratively with other staff in the schools.

A licensed psychologist is required. Experience in investigative work, school psychological activities, or other types of experience from the school world is advantageous.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, the ability to collaborate, and seeing students from a holistic perspective.

All documentation is done digitally, which requires you to be computer literate. Experience using the journal system Prorenata or similar is an advantage. A driver's license (B) is required.

Employment Conditions

The position is a temporary contract from August 10, 2026, to June 11, 2027.

Individual salary setting.

A driver's license (B) and experience driving a car are required as several of the schools are located in rural areas.

Requirement for a background check upon job offer. This is according to the law on background checks in school, leisure, and preschool activities. The National Police Board's criminal record, RPS 442.5 (14-01-14)
